Red-legged Honeycreepers

Red Legged Honeycreepers.  These bird are found in Central and South America and are regular visitors to fruit left out to attract them.  This piece is about 18 inches high and about 10 inches in diameter.  It can be seen at the Germanton Gallery in Germanton, North Carolina. The mangoes and birds are carved in tupelo gum wood and the stems and leaves are brass.
